"Bold and friendly, the Corgi responds well to training and loves his family, but he may try to herd you! He thrives on farms, but can adapt to a variety of living situations if given regular exercise. The Corgi is one of the most agreeable small house dogs, as well as an avid competitor in many dog sports, including conformation, herding and obedience." - AKC

What is an American Corgi?

"American Corgis are a newly emerging breed very similar to and closely related to the two Welsh Corgi breeds the Pembroke and the Cardigan. Breeders of American Corgis are attempting to produce hardy, intelligent and athletic dogs that are a little shorter in the back, longer in leg and smaller in overall size than their Welsh counterparts. They possess charming personalities, make great family dogs and are easily trained. They come from a herding background and love to have a job whether its fetching a ball, running an agility course... They require moderate exercise and grooming. They do shed seasonally. They are often easy keepers and attention should be paid to excess weight. They are subject to the same genetically based diseases as other Corgis including Degenerative Myelopathy (DM)" - Vintage American Corgis

* Our Studs have been genetically screened and are free & clear of any and all diseases. Since the males are clear there is no need for us to test the females because at worst the puppies we raise could only be carriers & not affected or at risk of an genetic concerns.
